New Meter Pit Policy

Effective Date: April 1, 2025

Dear Valued Customer,

We are excited to announce that, effective April 1, 2025, we will be updating our water meter system with new, state-of-the-art cellular reading devices. These advanced meters will enable us to read your water usage remotely and provide more efficient service.

As part of this transition, we would like to bring the following important changes to your attention:

Uncovered Meter Requirement

To ensure the proper functioning of the new cellular reading devices, it is essential that the meter base remains uncovered at all times. If your meter becomes covered by soil, debris, or any other material, and we are unable to obtain a reading or signal, we will be required to dispatch a technician to uncover the meter pit.

  • Service Fee for Uncovering Meter:
    If your meter is covered and we are unable to obtain a reading or signal, you will incur a $55 service fee for a technician to come out and uncover the meter pit.

  • Service Fee for 2nd offense: $ 110 and will continue to double after each offense. 

Meter Lid Replacement Fee

The new cellular meters are designed with durability in mind, but the meter lids are more susceptible to damage due to their increased cost and design. If your meter lid is broken as a result of external factors such as being hit by a lawn mower, driven over, or damaged in any other way, you will be required to pay for the replacement cost.

  • Meter Lid Replacement Fee:
    In the event that your meter lid is damaged, a replacement fee will be assessed to cover the cost of a new lid. The fee will be communicated to you based on the specific replacement costs at the time of damage.

We ask for your cooperation in ensuring that your meter base remains uncovered and the meter lid is protected. This will help us avoid unnecessary service charges and ensure the new system operates smoothly for all of our customers.
